Fragmenting into even smaller pieces, these particles can easily mix with natural water sources and wastewater, posing a danger to the health of larger organisms and our environment.
Wherever we look, we encounter microplastics in all aspects of our lives. They can be found in cosmetic products, the clothes we wear, shopping bags we use, shampoos, medical drugs, and even some foods. These nearly invisible particles are present in almost all the products we use, leaving behind microplastic waste in the environment. Unfortunately, Turkey is among the leading plastic-producing countries. Despite this intense consumption, significant measures are not taken by society for controlled plastic consumption.As a brand, we are particularly aware of the importance of having formulations in the cosmetic industry that do not contain microplastics. Microplastics contribute to environmental pollution and harm ecosystems. Due to their microscopic size, they spread to water systems, seas, and oceans, affecting aquatic life. Aquatic organisms that mistake microplastics for food can become poisoned or blocked by these particles. This creates negative effects throughout the food chain, ultimately impacting human health as well. Toxins carried by these particles can permeate the bodies of organisms. As a result, creatures that consume fish, including humans, are at an increased risk of absorbing these toxins.
